Ijaw leader warns militants to declare Niger Delta Republic.

The leaders of Thoughts of Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Niger Delta region at a meeting in Warri, Delta State, hosted by Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark over the weekend, warned Ijaw militants against their vow to declare a Republic of Niger-Delta.
At the meeting were, Bayelsa state governor, Hon Henry Seriake Dickson, Deputy Governor of Delta state, Mr. Kingsley Otuaro, former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Sir Gabriel Toby, former Minister of Culture, Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas, former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Brodrick Bozimo.

Also in attendance were former national chairman of the Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria, HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu, Mbene III, Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom, Alabo Tobin-West; Chief Boma Obuoforibo, INC National Chairman, and Sir NGO Martins Martyns-Yellowe, Chairman Civil Service Commission.

The leaders all agreed that what the Ijaw nation wants is true federalism not division.

Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark said:

Why I Won’t Seek Vengeance Against Killers Of Abuja Preacher – Pastor E.A Adeboye

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed why he will not seek vengeance against killers of Abuja preacher, Deaconess Eunice Olawale Elisha.

Forty-two-year old Mrs Elisha was hacked to death by hoodlums on June 9 at Gbazango-West area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory while preaching early in the morning.

She was an assistant pastor at the RCCG, Divine Touch parish, Old NEPA road, Phase 4, Kubwa, before she was slashed in the neck and stabbed in the stomach by suspected religious fanatics.

Adeboye, fondly called Daddy G.O by his admirers, said contrary to calls by eminent Nigerians that he should seek vengeance against killers of the evangelist, he would not do so.

He said such move would be counterproductive just as it would be contrary to what the deceased wanted and stood for when she was martyred.

According to the revered man of God, if Dcns Elisha was actually preaching to win souls for Jesus Christ, it would be unscriptural and anti-Christ to seek to kill the same souls she sought to save.

Adeboye made the declaration on the occasion of the second day of the ongoing Ministers Conference at the Redemption Camp, Kilometer 46, Lagos – Ibadan Expressway on Friday morning ahead the 64 annual convention starting August 1.

“I’m not looking for vengeance. I won’t listen to people asking me to seek vengeance.

“I won’t pursue the case. That’ll be contrary to what she wanted.

“She wanted them saved, not killed.

“What will their killing do for me?,” the 74-year-old cleric queried.

Teaching on the topic, “Importance of Mercy,” Adeboye said since every Christian did not know when they would die, the time to truly seek God was now.

Making an example out of the slain Mrs Elisha whom he said was not aware she won’t return home alive on that fateful day, the Ifewara-born cleric warned that the end of the age was imminent, hence the prevalence of vices all over the world.

He said the murdered evangelist finished well and was, no doubt, sitting at the right hand of her Saviour for whom she paid the supreme price.

“Recently, some hoodlums went to murder my daughter in Abuja.

“She was doing her morning cry that morning as she usually did, armed with a megaphone and her Bible.

“An Imam was said to have sent some hoodlums to drive her away, but they did something else.

“She didn’t know she won’t return home that day.

“She finished well. She finished strong

“What a beautiful way to go. She’s gone to be with the Lord,” he stated glowingly.

The man of God said that his joy was predicated on the fact that another soul was waiting for him in Heaven.

“My joy is that she finished well and I have additional soul waiting to welcome me in Heaven when it is my time,” Adeboye noted.

It will be recalled that husband of the slain evangelist, Pastor Elisha had, earlier, expressed misgivings in killing whoever was caught in connection with the murder, saying he would rather they gave their lives to Jesus Christ.

Describing his wife as a martyr, he said: “I see her as a martyr, and she died for Christ. And whether the people are caught or not, they should forgive them; my prayer is that if they can accept Christ, that will be a gain to Christ.”

The slain lady evangelist, who left behind his husband, aged father, mother and seven children, was buried last Saturday in Abuja.

A bank manager shoots himself dead over a bad loan of N350m.

A Manager at a second generation bank, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc, Mr. Olisa Nwakoby on Friday evening shot himself dead in the presence of his Priest at the Lekki area of Lagos Island, Lagos State.

According to New Telegraph, Nwakoby was the approving officer of a loan that the debtor was not paying back and was in trouble with the bank.

With pressure mounting on all sides and apprehension over sullying his family name, the banker and father of a 10-year-old daughter shot himself.

The banker had met with his priest and told him to inform his wife to take care of their child and then proceeded to literally blow his brains out.

“It was later discovered that he took money from the bank, N350million and the money started creating problems for him. He killed himself.” said the source.

Nwakoby was the son of Chief Patrick Oguejiofor Nwakoby who was a former chairman of First Bank of Niger Plc, a successful lawyer , politician and a highly respected community leader before his death.

Rapper, Michael Stephens, popularly known as

Ruggedman, has reacted to reports of

Nollywood actor, Ani Iyoho’s fire disaster on

live set yesterday.

According to the rapper, the act was the

highest level of stupidity on the part of those

involved in the scene.

It is surprising how this could happen. Is

the actor not experienced? Insurance or no

insurance life has no duplicate. The

director should have known a better option

for the scene that a naked fire. Film is make

believe. Why subject an actor to such a

dangerous scene with safety consideration?

May the almighty God help safe the life of

13 months old baby beaten to death by mom's boyfriend.

A young mum’s boyfriend has been found guilty of
battering her 13-month-old baby to death during a
drink and drugs binge.
Hardeep Hunjan, 27, beat little Noah Serra-
Morrison so severely his body looked like a
car crash victim. The sickening assault
happened at the flat where he lived with the
child and his mum, 22-year-old Ronnie Tayler-
Morrison.
Noah was found dead after suffering 15
fractures to his body, including a 6in wound
across his skull. The jury acquitted Tayler-
Morrison of the murder but found her guilty
of causing or allowing the death of a child and
cruelty to a person under 16.
She told the jury on the night her son died that
she had passed out and came around with her
boyfriend telling her Noah had fallen out of
his cot.
Hunjan was also convicted of cruelty to a
person under 16.
They will be sentenced tomorrow afternoon
after a six-week trial at Luton Crown Court.
Both had said the other was responsible for
Noah’s murder at the flat they all shared in
Luton, Bedfordshire.

hot trouble for allegedly r*ping a 35-year-old

woman.

He was remanded in prison custody by an

Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the

Prosecutor, Insp. Bayo Ajiboye, had told the

court that the accused allegedly committed the

offence on July 12 at Efon Alaaye-Ekiti.

Ajiboye said that the accused unlawfully raped

a 35-year-old woman on her way from the

farm and inflicted injuries that led to her

being hospitalised.

He said the offence contravened Section 358 of

the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti

State, 2012.

He told the court that he had forwarded a

duplicate of the case file to the office of the

Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), for

legal advice.

No plea was taken.

Magistrate Modupe Afeniforo remanded the

accused in prison custody, and adjourned the

case till Aug.19 for further mention.

The current investigation of the failed military coup in Turkey on July 15 showed that ex-commander of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), a NATO-led security mission in Afghanistan, was the organizer of the attempt.

 Yeni Safak, a Turkish newspaper, reports that General John F. Campbell managed more than $2 billion money transactions via United Bank of Africa (UBA) Bank in Nigeria by using CIA links to share among the pro-coup army personnel in Turkey.

 “The money, which has been distributed to an 80-person special team of the CIA, was used to convince pro-coup generals. “More than 2 billion dollars were distributed during the process leading to the coup.

 “After taking money from their bank accounts, the CIA team hand delivered it to the terrorists under the military dresses.
” However, a spokesperson for UBA has told TheCable the report is false and that the bank would issue a statement on Tuesday to deny the accusations. President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the aborted coup in Turkey which attempted to upset the government of Tayyip Erdoga  .

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, on Saturday assured that the Federal Government was doing everything possible to put an end to the discrimination between Degree holders and their Higher National Diploma, HND, counterpart

Speaking during the 32nd combined convocation and diamond jubilee celebrations of Kaduna Polytechnic, he stated that, “the present administration is much aware of the dichotomy between Higher National Diploma (HND) and the Degree holders and has taken all necessary steps toward bringing an end to the issue.”

Adamu also disclosed that the Federal Government would launch a new education strategy to serve as a guiding framework to transform the sector, stressing that the strategy would inspire efforts to bring the capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, systems to levels where they could respond to multiple demands.

The minister, however, appealed to the staff unions of Polytechnics to be patient with the present government as efforts are being made to address all their demands within available resources.

Three men who were caught while trying to steal armoured cables in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, were given a bizarre form of jungle justice when they were stripped naked and beaten to a pulp before they were handed over to security operatives.

According to eyewitnesses who posted the incident on Instagram, the suspects said to be notorious vandals, had sneaked into an electricity transformer enclosure around Udi Street in the town and started cutting the cables before luck ran out on them and they were caught red handed.

An alarm was raised immediately before they could escape and the mob which gathered, descended on them. They were tied to the metal frames of the transformer and given the beating of their lives before they were rescued by the police.

A resident of the area who witnessed the scene, narrated:

“The transformer in this street was vandalized over a month ago, and since then we have been in a total blackout.

When we reported the matter to the Enugu Electric Distribution Company office in Umuahia, they promised to replace the vandalized cables, but they are yet to do that, so the residents of ward three held a meeting where we agreed to form a vigilant group and also levy each building N1500 to fix the light problems here."

"When we captured the thieves, they confessed to be responsible for vandalization of the transformer and also named another member of their gang and a suspected buyer of the stolen cables.
